Is it safe to warm my new dinner plates in the microwave? The short answer to this is no. To heat food microwave ovens rely on water particles and these will not be present in your plates in the same way that they are in food. This means that the microwave will not heat properly and could be dangerous as well as possibly damaging your new dinner plates. The best idea is to heat them in the oven, especially if you are already using it to cook with.
Again if no markings are seen on the dishes themselves and none on the box they came in then you should not place the dishes in the microwave oven. The dinner plates themselves are not harmed by the microwave oven, but often there is a finish on the dishes that makes it dangerous to put them in the microwave. Examples of such dangerous finishing are the leading and the metallic finishing on the dishes; they will cause sparking in the microwave. Dishes made of glass can crack in the microwave oven if they have not been properly tempered for the heat.
Here are some interesting questions about the care of your just purchased dinner plates. What damage will the sun cause to my dishes if I leave them exposed to the sun's rays? The sun's UV light bleaches the bright color out of bright objects. However, that effect is more likely to happen with materials that are softer than the porcelain the plates are made from. Also the coatings on the plates will provide some measure of protection. If this should worry you, it is advised that you store your highly colored dishes out of the sun's direct light.
In each set of the cutlery number of pieces may vary. In this case, you have to judge it yourself and go according to the requirement of the couple. There are some bigger sets which include special cutlery like the ones that can be used for serving salad and cakes.
Many square plates have a very classic yet casual vibe. Instead of perfectly pointed corners they can have rounded corners that still present the square shape. They may also have different lines or curves worked into the plate’s edges or a design in the center of the plate.
